Basel Kasabali, M.D.

Basel Kasabali, M.D., joined Cardiovascular Consultants, LLP, in January 1997.  Prior to joining the practice, Dr. Kasabali was a faculty member in the Cardiology Department of LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.

A native of Damascus, Syria, Dr. Kasabali completed medical school at the Damascus University.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois. 

He has completed three specialty fellowships in related fields.  The first was a nuclear medicine fellowship at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.  The second was a cardiology fellowship at the Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.  The third was in electrophysiology, also at the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.

Dr. Kasabali is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and its subspecialty boards in cardiology and electrophysiology.  He is also certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.  He is a member of the medical staff for the facilities of the Willis-Knighton Health System, as well as the LSU Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.  He has served as a co-author for numerous articles published in journals targeting nuclear medicine professionals.
